Malcolm Newdick - Managing Director

After gaining his Doctorate in Biology Malcolm moved into IT, initially as a programmer and tutor in programming at Oxford University.

In 1987 Malcolm founded Update Software which he ran for seven years. He left in 1994 to work overseas with Save the Children for two years as IT Adviser to the Mozambique Ministry of Health.

On his return to the UK he worked as a freelance IT consultant. He founded Riverbank in 1997.

 

Other interests

Malcolm is a trustee of the Vincent Wildlife Trust , a charity engaged in wildlife research and conservation, with an emphasis on bat conservation.

He is also a director of the Telework Association , a not-for-profit organisation that promotes flexible working. His involvement with the Telework Association is a reflection of his commitment to sustainable rural development and conviction that there must be a better alternative to commuting to work.

From 2001 to 2003 he was proud to help the Cochrane Collaboration, initially as a director of the trading company and subsequently Company Secretary. Family

Malcolm is married to Helen. They have two children, one dog, several guinea pigs and a variable number of tropical fish. Home is in Great Haseley, where Malcolm is vice-chairman of the Parish Council. He is often seen cycling around the area in a doomed attempt to stave off old age.
