Senior Support Engineer
As the virtual IT Department for a number of small to medium sized clients we supply full network solutions and day-to-day service desk support for around 1500 users.
The Role
This is a major role in our small team looking after a dedicated group of clients and their networks of 5-75 users. The successful candidate will:

• Be a point of escalation from first/second line support, required to take ownership of more difficult tickets and assisting first line where required.
• Maintain a high degree of customer service while managing time across service desk and project work demands.
• Support clients by providing necessary advice and recommendations for maintaining a reliable network infrastructure (windows based)
• Work effectively and productively with good communication skills at all levels
• Troubleshoot issues effectively, both remotely and on-site
• Help maintain IT procedures including disaster recovery and standard troubleshooting procedures
The Candidate
• Strong Knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server based OS (XP / 7 and MS Server 2003 / 2008)

• Exchange 2003/2007/2010 administration and support
• Networking experience (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS)
• Knowledge of firewalls (general IP routing and NAT concepts)
• 2nd / 3rd Line Support experience – preferably within a small outsourced IT business or a small/medium business.
• Must have customer facing experience
• Need to be able to work on own and as part of a team
• Full clean driving licence
• MCITP or MCSE or equivalent experience
Additional Skills
• Managed Services experience
• Virtualisation
• Network security
• SharePoint support and configuration (not necessarily development but that would be useful as well)
• VOIP telephony
