With no capital costs and a simple £15.75 per user per month subscription, Microsoft’s hybrid cloud service, Office 365, is proving attractive to small and startup businesses.
The ‘hybrid’ part of it is that your subscription gets you the full Microsoft Office suite to install on your PC or laptop, plus hosted services for e-mail, data storage and collaboration.
The killer part of the service is the ability to work online and offline, something that’s missing from most cloud services. You can store your data files in the cloud but also have them offline on your laptop. You can work without an Internet connection, knowing that your computer will synchronise automatically when it next connects to the Internet.
