IT security – new threats, new solutions
Learn about the threats to your computer network…
…and what to do about them
The Oxfordshire Golf Club
Thursday 24 April 2008
6.00 - 8.30pm
If you worry about
- Damage to your company reputation if you lost sensitive client data?
- Theft of laptops?
- ‘Drive by’ attacks via the web?
- Disruption caused by spam, trojans and viruses?
- Your staff accessing inappropriate web sites, abusing company facilities or just old-fashioned skiving?
- Careless disposal of old equipment?
IT security has become a hot issue. The Inland Revenue showered 25 million confidential records into the public domain. The MoD lost personal details of hundreds of thousands of recruits when a laptop computer was stolen.
The result is that the consequences of poor IT security have become crystal clear. Every business must take IT security seriously or risk serious damage to its reputation.
At the end of the workshop you will have a good understanding of the nature of IT security threats facing your business, and a practical plan of how to protect your business and its reputation.
- Introduction by Sophos, a global leader in IT security, with 100 million users worldwide
- Learn about the current threats to IT security
- Work in groups to evaluate the risks facing your business
- Use the Riverbank template to decide what you need to do to secure your IT system
The workshop will be interesting, informative and informal. With plenty of ideas, interaction, and prizes, it should also be fun.
Come along after work on Thursday 24th April – a buffet with wine at 6pm should give you the stamina to see you through until we finish at 8:30.
There will also be an opportunity to discuss your business issues with members of the Riverbank technical team.
