Six laptops stolen from South London hospital
Last month six laptops were stolen from South London hospital. They contained personal details of some 20,000 people. The data should not have been on the laptops, highlighting a breach of procedures caused by problems with their network. If you are still feeling complacent, spare a thought for Hazel Blears whose computer was stolen from her constituency office. It turned out to have contained e-mails that should not have been on there. The cause? Other people’s failure to follow procedures about e-mailing sensitive information. It highlights again the need to follow and enforce procedures.
