R2130: Unable to check the box Shadow Copy Components in Symantec Backup Exec
Problem
You are unable to check the box Shadow Copy Components in Symantec Backup Exec.
You get the following error message:
An error was encountered while attempting to browse the content of \\SERVERNAME\Shadow?Copy?Components?. A failure occured assessing the Writer metadata.
Solution
Open the commnd prompt and type the folowing commands (with Enter after each)CD C:\WINDOWS\system32
regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 vss_ps.dll
Vssvc /Register
regsvr32 /i swprv.dll
regsvr32 /i eventcls.dll
regsvr32 es.dll
regsvr32 stdprov.dll
regsvr32 vssui.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml4.dll
Then reboot the server and you will be able to select the Shadow Copy Components.
