EEP is a consultant specialist in mechanical and electrical engineering services to the building industry. Set up in 1978 it has around 30 staff servicing clients in the UK and in Europe.
In 2004 it acquired one of its competitors, and the need for a complete update of its IT system became paramount.
With the new Farnham-based business, the two offices needed to be linked. It was time to look for a solution.
“Our existing IT support company had been falling short on its promises for some time,” said Nigel Bowater, Director, EEP. “We needed an IT support service that would work with us and anticipate our needs.”
The brief was to update EEP’s existing IT infrastructure in both offices and to create a link between the offices that would enable staff to work on large engineering drawings at either office.
Riverbank was invited to pitch for the account. “When Riverbank came to see us, we saw that we might well get the support we were looking for,” Bowater says. “Once on board, Riverbank quickly helped us specify our new network and the links between the two offices, and installed our new system.”
In addition to linking EEP’s West Wycombe and Farnham sites, Riverbank also provided the company with improved facilities for flexible working and working from home.
EEP also has better IT security, with improved anti-spam and anti-virus systems, as well as a reliable back-up system.
Riverbank continues to support EEP through a fully monitored and managed network and its help desk service.
