Accentus Medical’s Acusure® range is designed to improve both biocompatibility and durability of orthopaedic and other implantable medical devices. The company is also pioneering the development of an innovative surface modification treatment, called Agluna®, which binds silver ions into the surface of titanium and other metal alloy medical devices to produce a surface with proven anti-microbial properties.
As a new spin-out business in 2005, Accentus Medical selected Riverbank to install its office network and provide full IT support. Five years later the company had out-grown its original file server – it was running out of disk space and lacked the power to support a growing number of users. They needed to replace it.
The brief to Riverbank was to provide a new server that would meet the company’s needs for the next three years. It also had to be a flexible solution that could be adapted to the needs of a high-growth business. They were also keen to minimise capital costs.
In June 2010 Riverbank installed a new server at the Accentus Medical office. This server is owned by Riverbank and provided on a monthly rental, enabling Accentus Medical to avoid capital expenditure. They also get the benefit of predictable IT costs because the rental package includes hardware, server software licences, monthly security updates and full support from Riverbank. In short, Riverbank takes the risk of any unreliability.
